Elderberry Syrup Recipe

Its that time of year with coughing and running noses. When every time you go to a store you are disinfecting the whole cart, running the opposite way when someone starts coughing or is sniffing their nose, and finally relaxing as you get in your car and sanitize everyone hands, in the hopes that not of you caught anything (or maybe that is just me).

I just absolutely despise when my kids or husband (which lets admit when they are sick are the biggest babies of all, love them but all so true) are sick. Because my work load just tripled. Now on top of everything else I have a very needy child that only wants to be held (okay I may like that part a little) extra cleaning and sanitizing, noses to blow, medicine to administer, etc…. And we know that if we catch it we are going to have to just plow through feeling miserable because mamas don’t get sick days.

Well all joking aside I have a few things that I always do during this time of year, and one of them is give my children Elderberry. Now this started getting really expensive so I looked into how to make it myself and have been experimenting. My last batch turned out great so I am going to share my recipe with you, and I hope that all of you had a sick free Christmas and New Years.

Notes

*During Cold and Flu season I give my kids 1 teaspoon a day with their regular multivitamin.
*If they seem like they are getting sick I will usually up the dose to 1 teaspoon twice a day until I see improvement then I go back to the once a day.
* I am not a medical professional so please always advise your doctor when taking new things
