Whole 30 BBQ Sauce
I made this BBQ sauce last week to go with some Pork I cooked in the slower cooker (later on that) and it was great even my husband (who isn’t doing Whole30) loved it. Also it was really simple and easy to make and it didn’t take long. Hope you enjoy it
Ingredients
- 4 oz raisins soked in warm water for 15 minutes then drained
- 2 cups tomato puree
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 2 Tbsp coconut aminos
- 1 1/2 teaspoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon natural liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Soak the raisins in warm water for 15 minutes, then drain
- Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend on high for 3 minutes until smooth.
- Pour the sauce into a saucepan over medium-high heat and whisk to combine.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 3ominutes, until the sauce has reduced by about half.
- Let the sauce come to room temperature before storing in the refrigerator for later use.
Notes
You can use dates in place of raisens just change the amount to 3oz if using dates
Sauce should keep up to 1 week in the fridge.
