Elderberry syrup recipe

Elderberry Syrup

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup dried elderberries
  • 1 cup pure unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 inch chunk of ginger
  • 1/4 cup local unfiltered honey
  • 1/4 cup monk fruit or erythritol
  • 1 cinnamon stick optional
  • 2 whole cloves optional

Instructions
 

  • Place all ingredients in a saucepan, except for the honey. Bring to boil over medium heat. Simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat and add honey. Stir until honey is melted and combined. Strain mixture and store for up to 2 months in the fridge.

Notes

*During Cold and Flu season I give my kids 1 teaspoon a day with their regular multivitamin.
*If they seem like they are getting sick I will usually up the dose to 1 teaspoon twice a day until I see improvement then I go back to the once a day.
